An extremely original 1951 Mercedes Benz 170 S Convertible A. First sold to a European client in 1951, it was sold to a Dutchman in 1953 who kept the car for over 48 years. The third and most recent owner possessed the car for another 16 years! This particular car is the sought after convertible coupe A version. The A and B convertible models were in production for a mere 3 years with a total production output of some 2,433 models. This car benefitted from a carefully executed restoration in the past and is in very good condition. The lovely bodywork is sound with all panels fitting together as they should. The chrome details still gleam and the original underbody is corrosion free. The white finish is in very good condition and the tan leather trim has a lovely patina. It has a new black soft-top. The car has retained all of the original details including a wonderful Becker radio. Exclusively this car comes with an original 'Karl Baisch' set of suitcases in pristine condition and the original dealer's brochure.
