We have the most fantastic 1961 Mercedes Benz 300SL Roadster for you on offer. The 300SL Roadster and the 300SL Gullwing must be one of the most iconic Mercedes ever made. This 4-owner car was supplied from new in 1961. In that year, starting at number 2780, the 300SL enjoyed an upgrade to Dunlop disc brakes on all four wheels. Our car was one of the first of 478 in total to have this significant upgrade. It also sports ‘Rudge’ rims and electronic power steering costing over £13,000 at the time! The original rims, steering wheel and steering rack have been retained. The beautiful bodywork has wonderfully straight panel work. The interior trim is lovely and has been well maintained. Mechanically there is nothing at all to worry about, with everything in perfect working order. The engine has benefited from an overhaul in the past. Maintenance and service records are present as are so-called ‘Datenkarte’ confirming every car part number. This car has it own matching numbers original engine.
