We have the pleasure of presenting a rare 1963 Bristol 408 Saloon. Bought a few years ago by the well-known Aston Martin specialist, Desmond J Small from its first owner. The in 1963 introduced 408 had the new iconic Bristol shape that remained recognisable up to the 1972 series 3 Bristol 411. The Bristol was an exclusive, sporty and yet quintessential a distinguished gentleman’s coupe! The striking rectangular grill, straight wing lines and oval rear lights are stunning. In 4 years only 83 408’s were ever produced. The list price of the Bristol’s was up there with the Rolls Royce’s and Bentleys. This car is certainly a rarity considering its superb original, unrestored condition and mileage of 72,000 miles. The bodywork has had a full bare-metal professional re-spray. The wonderful bodywork has perfectly straight panels and brilliant paintwork. The perfectly sound underbody is still original and totally rust-free. The original interior trim exudes a wonderful patina. It has a 250 Hp 5.2 V8 Chrysler engine in combination with a 3-stage, ‘push button’ automatic transmission. The car drives a treat. This is surely a rare superbly preserved Bristol!

Zeldzame Bristol 408 Saloon van bouwjaar 1963. Dit exemplaar is enkele jaren geleden door gerenommeerd Aston Martin specialist Desmond J Smail gekocht van de eerste eigenaar. De 408 werd in 1963 geïntroduceerd en was het nieuwe karakteristieke model dat tot en met de Bristol 411 Series 3 in 1972 herkenbaar bleef. Exclusief, sportief en toch een gedistingeerde gentleman’s coupe, dat is een Bristol! De opvallende rechthoekige grille, rechte vleugel lijnen en ovale achterlichten, prachtig. Van de 408 zijn in vier jaar tijd slechts 83 exemplaren geproduceerd. Destijds kostte de Bristol een vermogen en kon zich meten met Rolls-Royce en Bentley. Met recht een zeldzame auto, zeker in deze subliem originele conditie. Dit exemplaar heeft namelijk 72.000 miles gereden en is nooit gerestaureerd. Wel is de carrosserie volledig kaal gemaakt en professioneel gespoten. De carrosserie is prachtig, heeft strak plaatwerk en prachtig lakwerk. De onderzijde is puntgaaf, volledig origineel en compleet vrij van roest. Het interieur is origineel en heeft een fantastische patina. Voorzien van een 250 pk sterke 5.2 V8 afkomstig van Chrysler, gecombineerd met een 3-traps ‘push button’ automatische transmissie. Rijdt fantastisch. Kortom, een zeldzame Bristol in top originele conditie verkerend!

Dieser seltene Bristol 408 Saloon stammt aus dem Jahr 1963. Der renommierte Aston Martin Spezialist Desmond J. Smail hat das Fahrzeug vor einigen Jahren von dem 1. Besitzer gekauft. Die 408 Version wurde in 1963 introduziert, es war ein sehr charaktervolles Fahrzeug. Das Design blieb bis 1972 (die 411 Series 3) erkennbar. Exklusiv, sportlich und trotzdem ein gehobenes Fahrzeug für den Gentleman, das ist was Bristol bedeutet! Der markante rechteckige Kühlergrill, die gerade Linien und die ovale Rücklichter, einfach wunderschön. Von der 408 Serie wurden nur 83 Exemplare hergestellt. Damals waren die Fahrzeuge von der Marke Bristol sehr teuer, vergleichbar mit Rolls Royce und Bentley. Mit Recht ein seltenes Fahrzeug und sicherlich in so einem originalen Zustand, das Auto hat nämlich eine originale Laufleistung von nur 72.000 Meilen und brauchte nie restauriert zu werden. Trotzdem hat man die alte Lackschicht entfernt und wurde der Bristol fachmännisch neu lackiert. Die Karosserie ist dementsprechend wunderschön, sie ist sehr glatt und hat eine wunderschöne Lackierung. Der einwandfrei Unterboden ist original und absolut rostfrei. Das originale Interieur hat eine fantastische Patina. Der 250 PS starke 5.2 V8 Chrysler Motor kommt hat ein 3-Gang “push Button“ Automatikgetriebe, womit sich das Fahrzeug sehr angenehm fahren lässt. Ein sehr seltener Bristol in einem top originalen Zustand!
