Tenemos una muy rara edición de gama alta del Ford Modelo A convertible. FordEl objetivo era llevar al mercado un coche descapotable, con todo el confort y el lujo de un modelo cerrado. Para lograr esto, el automóvil se equipó con todo tipo de extras, como ventanas de seguridad, un capó de alta resistencia, dos ruedas de repuesto e iluminación adicional. Todo se hizo para hacer esto Ford Modelo A edición una alternativa al coupé de lujo. Desafortunadamente, no se convirtió en el éxito. Ford tenía esperanzas y esta rara edición se vendió esporádicamente.
Nuestro coche salió a la carretera por primera vez en 1929. Ya ha sido restaurado una vez y está en buenas condiciones. El motor de 3.3 litros y 4 cilindros está acoplado a una transmisión manual de tres velocidades. El motor funciona bien y la acción de la transmisión funciona con precisión.

De plaat waarmee Ford eindelijk doorbrak bij het grote publiek. Maar om niet te verworden tot een eendagsvlieg moest Ford met een dijk van een opvolger komen, dat werd de Ford Model A die ervoor zorgde dat Ford hard op weg ging om te verworden tot één van de allerbelangrijkste ondernemingen uit de auto-industrie. Tussen 1928 en 1931 wist Ford er maar liefst 4,8 miljoen van te verkopen.
Het betreft hier een zeer zeldzame top uitvoering van de Ford Model A Cabriolet. Ford probeerde een open auto op de markt te brengen met het comfort en de luxe uitstraling van een gesloten uitvoering. Om dat te bereiken kreeg deze uitvoering de beschikking over, draairamen, een extra zware kwaliteit cabrioletkap en werd de auto uitgevoerd met twee reservewielen en extra verlichting. Alles werd in het werk gesteld om deze uitvoering van de Ford Model A een alternatief te laten zijn voor een luxe coupé. Het werd niet het succes waar Ford op had gehoopt en deze zeldzame uitvoering werd dan ook maar zelden verkocht.
Dit exemplaar werd voor het eerst toegelaten tot het verkeer in 1929. De auto is al eens gerestaureerd en verkeert in prachtige conditie. De auto is tijdens de restauratie gespoten in het chique Brewster green en zwart. De auto is na de restauratie altijd gekoesterd en zeer goed verzorgd. De auto verkeert dan ook, zowel optisch als technisch in goede conditie. De auto is sinds de restauratie zeer goed onderhouden. Het plaatwerk is mooi dun en heeft correcte passingen. De lak is goed verzorgd met slechts wat lichte sporen van gebruik. Het interieur is tijdens de restauratie opnieuw bekleed en verkeert nog altijd in prima conditie. De cabrioletkap is eveneens in goede staat en sluit overal mooi aan.
De 3.3 liter viercilinder motor is gekoppeld aan een handgeschakelde transmissie met drie versnellingen. De motor loopt goed en de transmissie laat zich precies bedienen.
Kortom een tegenwoordig zeer zeldzame Ford Model A 68B Cabriolet in de toenmalige topuitvoering en in prima conditie.

To achieve this the car was fitted with all sorts of extra’s like wind-down windows, an extra heavy-duty hood, two spare wheels and additional lighting. Everything was done to make this Ford Model A edition an alternative to the luxury coupé. Unfortunately, it didn’t become the success Ford had hope for and this rare edition sold sporadically.
Our car first hit the roads in 1929. It has already once been restored and is in fine condition. During the restoration, the car was sprayed in a stylish Brewster green and black. Following its restoration, the car was cherished and very well maintained. The car is both in visual as well as the mechanical sense in good condition. The panelwork is nice and thin with correct alignments. The paintwork has been properly looked after, showing only slights signs of use. The reupholstered interior is still in fine condition. The hood is also in good shape with a good fit.
The 3.3 litre 4-cylinder engine is attached to a three-speed manual transmission. The engine runs well and the transmission action works precisely.
This is now a very rare 1929 Ford Model A 68B convertible in the then top of the range edition and in great shape.
