In 2001, Mercedes-Benz presented the new SL, referred to by experts as the R230 series. As an evolution of the R129, the newcomer is in many ways ready for the new era. From rectangular headlights to the peanut-shaped lighting that was characteristic of Mercedes at that time. But also from soft-top to folding hardtop. Furthermore, there were numerous firsts for this generation, such as Keyless Entry & Go and Active Body Control, an active chassis.
In terms of engine range, the new SL is also a clear successor to the R129, initially with an SL 500 and SL 55 AMG and later less powerful and even more explosive versions. The car you see here is an SL 500 and, with its smooth V8 with 306 hp, it is a fantastic driver’s car. Equipped with every luxury and comfort, but also with a form of classic character. The V8 is still a traditional naturally aspirated engine without a turbo and therefore fantastic sounding and very powerful.
This SL 500 was delivered new in 2002 and came to the Netherlands in 2006. In one of the most popular color combinations and most typical for Mercedes-Benz: silver gray with dark gray leather. The bodywork is in good condition. The SL was actually a kind of showcase of what Mercedes-Benz was capable of and that can mainly be described as impressive. Don’t forget that you are looking at a car that is over twenty years old. All associated parts, such as lighting, wheels, rubbers and other details, also show that these are cars of very high quality. The mileage of this 5-liter is only 126,485 kilometers, which means that this SL has barely been run in, as they say.
This is also visible in the interior. The, of course, original upholstery is in excellent condition and that applies to everything you see around you when you take a seat on one of the fantastic chairs. In addition to all the gray and black tones, the very beautiful wooden center console and various places with a similar finish are a very stylish and colorful addition. Very chic.
Under the hood is the aforementioned 5-liter V8. Not quite the brutal violence of the SL 55 AMG, but unprecedented flexibility. Plenty of power everywhere, but at the same time anything but nervous or dominant. A reliable engine that will provide endless fun. The previous owner enjoyed his car and wanted it to remain in good condition and kept the SL properly maintained.
A beautiful classic in the making that is of course also particularly suitable for business use.

In 2001 presenteert Mercedes-Benz de nieuwe SL, onder kenners aangeduid als de R230-serie. Als evolutie van de R129 is de nieuweling in vele opzichten klaar voor de nieuwe tijd. Van rechthoekige koplampen naar de pinda-vormige verlichting die kenmerkend is voor Mercedessen in die tijd. Maar ook van soft-top naar schalen neerklapbare hardtop. Verder waren er voor deze generatie talloze primeurs, zoals Keyless Entry & Go en Active Body Control, een actief onderstel.
Qua motoraanbod is de nieuwe SL eveneens een duidelijke opvolger van de R129, met aanvankelijk een SL 500 en SL 55 AMG en later minder krachtige en juist nog explosievere uitvoeringen. De auto die u hier ziet betreft een SL 500 en is met zijn smeuïge V8 met 306 pk een fantastische rijdersauto. Voorzien van alle luxe en comfort maar ondertussen ook nog een vorm van klassiek karakter. De V8 is nog een traditionele atmosferische motor zonder turbo en daardoor fantastisch klinkend en zeer krachtig.
Deze SL 500 werd nieuw afgeleverd in 2002 en kwam in 2006 naar Nederland. In één van de meest geliefde kleurstellingen en meest typisch voor Mercedes-Benz: zilvergrijs met donkergrijs leder. De carrosserie verkeert in een nette staat. De SL was eigenlijk een soort showcase tot wat Mercedes-Benz in staat was en dat laat zich vooral omschrijven als indrukwekkend. Vergeet niet dat u hier naar een ruim twintig jaar oude auto kijkt. Ook aan alle bijbehorende delen, zoals verlichting, wielen, rubbers en overige details is te zien dat dit auto’s zijn van een zeer hoge kwaliteit. De kilometerstand van deze 5-liter bedraagt slechts 126.485 kilometer en daarmee is deze SL amper ingereden, zoals men dat dan noemt.
Dat is ook te zien aan het interieur. De, uiteraard, originele bekleding is in een prima conditie en dat geldt eigenlijk voor alles dat u om u heen ziet als u op één van de geweldig zittende stoelen plaatsneemt. Naast alle grijs- en zwarttinten is de zeer fraaie houten middenconsole en diverse plekken met een gelijke afwerking een zeer stijlvolle en kleurrijke toevoeging. Zeer chique.
Onder de motorkap de reeds aangehaalde 5-liter V8. Net niet het brute geweld van de SL 55 AMG maar wel een ongekende souplesse. Overal riant meer dan kracht genoeg, tegelijkertijd allesbehalve nerveus of dominant aanwezig. Een betrouwbare motor ook die voor eindeloos veel plezier zal zorgen. De vorige eigenaar genoot van zijn auto en wilde dat deze dan ook in goede staat zou blijven en gaf de SL keurig onderhoud.
Een prachtige klassieker in wording die natuurlijk ook bijzonder geschikt is om zakelijk in te zetten.

Im Jahr 2001 stellte Mercedes-Benz den neuen SL vor, der in Fachkreisen als Baureihe R230 bezeichnet wird. Als Weiterentwicklung der R129 ist der Newcomer in vielerlei Hinsicht bereit für die neue Ära. Von rechteckigen Scheinwerfern bis hin zur erdnussförmigen Beleuchtung, die damals für Mercedes charakteristisch war. Aber auch vom Softtop bis zum klappbaren Hardtop. Darüber hinaus gab es für diese Generation zahlreiche Neuheiten wie Keyless Entry & Go und Active Body Control, ein aktives Fahrwerk.
Auch hinsichtlich der Motorenpalette ist der neue SL ein klarer Nachfolger des R129, zunächst mit SL 500 und SL 55 AMG, später dann mit leistungsschwächeren und noch explosiveren Versionen. Das Auto, das Sie hier sehen, ist ein SL 500 und mit seinem laufruhigen V8 mit 306 PS ein fantastisches Fahrauto. Ausgestattet mit allem Luxus und Komfort, aber auch mit einem Hauch von klassischem Charakter. Der V8 ist immer noch ein traditioneller Saugmotor ohne Turbo und daher fantastisch klingend und sehr leistungsstark.
Dieser SL 500 wurde 2002 neu ausgeliefert und kam 2006 in die Niederlande. In einer der beliebtesten und typischsten Farbkombinationen von Mercedes-Benz: Silbergrau mit dunkelgrauem Leder. Die Karosserie ist in gutem Zustand. Der SL war eigentlich eine Art Schaufenster dessen, wozu Mercedes-Benz fähig war und das kann man vor allem als beeindruckend bezeichnen. Vergessen Sie nicht, dass Sie es mit einem Auto zu tun haben, das über zwanzig Jahre alt ist. Auch alle dazugehörigen Teile wie Beleuchtung, Räder, Gummis und andere Details zeigen, dass es sich um Autos von sehr hoher Qualität handelt. Die Laufleistung dieses 5-Liters beträgt lediglich 126.485 Kilometer, was bedeutet, dass dieser SL, wie es heißt, kaum eingefahren ist.
Dies ist auch im Innenraum sichtbar. Die natürlich originale Polsterung ist in ausgezeichnetem Zustand und das gilt auch für alles, was Sie um sich herum sehen, wenn Sie auf einem der fantastischen Stühle Platz nehmen. Neben all den Grau- und Schwarztönen sind die sehr schöne Mittelkonsole aus Holz und diverse Stellen mit ähnlicher Lackierung eine sehr stilvolle und farbenfrohe Ergänzung. Sehr schick.
Unter der Haube steckt der bereits erwähnte 5-Liter-V8. Nicht ganz die brutale Gewalt des SL 55 AMG, aber beispiellose Flexibilität. Überall viel Power, aber gleichzeitig alles andere als nervös oder dominant. Ein zuverlässiger Motor, der endlosen Spaß bietet. Der Vorbesitzer hatte Freude an seinem Auto und wollte, dass es in einem guten Zustand bleibt, und pflegte den SL ordnungsgemäß.
Ein wunderschöner Klassiker im Entstehen, der natürlich auch besonders für den geschäftlichen Einsatz geeignet ist.
