The V8 may well be the most characterful model from an era when craftsmanship, presence and performance came together in a truly unique British grand tourer. This particular example, a rare and highly desirable 1980 version, is internally known by Aston Martin as the “Oscar India” — a name derived from “October Introduction,” when the model was first unveiled at the NEC Motor Show in 1978.

This Aston Martin has been fully restored by the renowned specialist Noble House in the Netherlands. The body was stripped down to bare metal and rebuilt with meticulous attention to detail. The result is a beautifully finished car in Old English Pewter, paired with a warm Cognac leather interior. It’s a timeless and refined combination that perfectly highlights the GT’s elegant character.

This is a matching-numbers car, originally delivered by Gillis Motors Ltd in Brussels and built to full European specifications. It comes with both a Heritage Trust Certificate and the original build sheet, underlining its authenticity.

The Oscar India generation introduced a number of thoughtful refinements: a revised hood design (shared with the Volante), a seamlessly integrated rear spoiler line, and a more luxurious interior featuring a wood dashboard, leather headliner and improved air conditioning. Power steering, electric windows, a heated rear window and a limited-slip differential were standard. This example also benefits from the sought-after factory sunroof.

Under the hood is a hand-built 5.3-liter V8 mated to an automatic transmission, the standard setup at the time. With a top speed of over 140 mph and performance figures that held their own against Italian and German rivals, this V8 offered serious pace wrapped in unmistakable British elegance.

Aston Martin has long been known for its limited production numbers, meticulous craftsmanship and distinctive design language. This 1980 V8 embodies all of that and more. It’s a powerful yet refined statement piece, ideal for the discerning collector seeking an original, perfectly restored classic with documented provenance and international appeal.
