In 1989 introduced the new 911, internally named as the 964. The body shape remained more or less unaltered except for the bumpers being change to smooth ones from the typical 80’s rubber harmonica bumpers. That change still makes the car look modern today.

Not only was the look different, at 85% of the car was different according to Porsche. An automatically adjustable rear spoiler, a fatter six-cylinder boxer engine and the option of four wheel drive were the most obvious changes. They formed a welcome addition to an otherwise classic Porsche. The tiptronic also made its entrance, an automatic transmission with the option to manually shift using a + or – on the gear knob.

Whilst the fwd and Tiptronic allow for comfort and safety, today’s purist is clear in his or her wishes: a manual 5-speed rear wheel drive weighing less. Hence the Carrera ‘2’ is an enthusiasts car that more and more has come into its own. Now, the choice between a coupé and convertible is a matter of personal taste, but seeing this ‘triple blue’ cabriolet made us drool.

We have a proper matching colours 911 here. The paintwork, Dunkleblau, wholly suits the top quality matching leather and electronic hood. The wonderful condition of the silver-grey cup-rims give sparkle to the whole.
We would give the 964’s paintwork a 10 out of 10. A deep lustre and colour that dependent on the light fall changes between blue to purple-blue and it is so very special. Walking round the car you will probably come to the same conclusion as we did; the car has perfect presence. That sensation does not disappear when you open the door and survey the everything but drab interior. Wherever you look there is blue. The electric seats, the leather steering wheel and gear knob, the carpets and many tops: ‘Blau soll das sein!’ We hardy have to mention the overall condition as it is more than worthy of any enthusiast, the 153 thousand kilometres have not left their mark at all.
The 3.6 litre M64 engine made it debut in the 964 with an output of 250 hp and torque of 310 Nm. Impressive performance for the person who first collected this car. The top speed is 257 km/hr. This 964 Carrera has been kept immaculate and drives fantastically. Power, torque and suppleness in combination with studiedness and the sensation Porsche always manages to build into its cars. It is a car to be driven aggressively or enjoy at your leisure on longer trips.
The Porsche comes with a document file containing invoices, rapports and registration papers.

In summary we are happy to conclude this is a very original and straight example with an incredible presence and delicious handling. A car that will only appreciate in future because of the combination of classic looks and modern features.
