The 7th 911 generation, the 991 was first presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Although clearly different compared to its 997 predecessor it is still obviously part of the 911 family. Under the bonnet, a modified version of the 3.8 litre 997 engine could be found, now producing 400 hp.

Naturally impressive numbers but the 911 enthusiast was waiting for the GT3 version to make its appearance in 2013. It arrived to great acclaim as rumours have it produce 450 hp, in reality, the performance is even heftier: 475 hp @ 8,250 rpm! The engine is derived from the Carrera S with newly developed cylinder heads and specifically designed crankshaft and valves. The engine block can even handle 9,000 rpm!

The GT3 is not just a car with a bit more power and extra finery: was able to shave quite a bit of weight off the GT3. The bonnet, boot lid, roof, spoilers and doors are made of aluminium, saving 13%. The torsion stiffness improved by 25%.

That Porsche wanted everyone to know this was a street-legal racing car is clear from their proclamation it completed the Nürburgring Nordschliefe in less than seven and a half minutes.

This white 2014 GT3 is in pristine condition. With less than 30,000 km on the clock and a perfect service record this Porsche has barely been driven in. The white paintwork and black and red stripes are again pristine and lends the car its ultimate racing appearance. Matt anthracite rims add to its sportive image. Had you noticed the central locking nut? They were a very exclusive and fantastic characteristic of this model. The enormous wing manages to remove any shred of doubt this is a thorough-blood supercar.

Inside is in typical 911 style. Sober in the upmost perfect and finely finished manner. No frivolity but just the use of beautiful leather, Alcantara, aluminium and good quality plastic. Porsche shines when it comes to perfect finishes. The seats warrant a special mention with their half-leather, half-Alcantara adjustable bucket seats; they look new and sit phenomenally well. Porsche is number one since the mid-eighties when it comes to sports seats and these racing seats are no exception. Behind the front seats, you will find a neat black-clad roll-bar. Red seatbelts are the only contrasting colour around. In front of you is a lovely sports steering wheel present with lots of aluminium and of course, large “flippers” mounted behind it. A light touch is all needed to shift up and down the gears. The large screen includes SatNav and the car is fitted with all manner of comforts needed. The centre console has controls for the exhaust, gearbox, various driving modes and the front lift-system.

Driving this GT3 is an experience only available in the more muscular equipped 911’s. Perfect can sometimes be a bit bland. With this 991 GT3 perfection translates simply in goosebumps. The sound, the extreme performance (0-100 in 3.5 seconds and 0-200 in just 12 ticks). The exceptional build quality ensures an extremely direct driving experience and incredible road-holding with noise and feeling that gets into every fibre of your body. Over and above all of that the finish is so good that there is even space for a certain degree of comfort, allowing you to enjoy rather than endure longer trips in this GT3.

The 991 GT3 is probably ‘the best that money can buy’ and its practically new white finish possibly the most beautiful of all.
