At Gallery Aaldering, we are, of course, fans of the most diverse models, and motorcycles are certainly part of that! This brings us to this delightful motorcycle. Back in the day, made the A7 series from 1947 to 1962. Notable features included a partially chromed tank and the black frame with black fenders.

Do you know why the models right after the war had minimal chrome work? This was partly due to the reconstruction after World War II. Certain materials, such as chrome, were scarce. With an air-cooled parallel-twin, a two-cylinder engine, and transversely mounted, this 495cc BSA was well-equipped, and we can describe the engine as a long-stroke engine. In those years, the octane rating of gasoline was not as high as it is now, which is why we also see a low compression ratio of 6.6:1. The motorcycle underwent various changes during its production period.

This BSA gained a reputation as a reliable everyday companion. With just a few simple tools at home, this motorcycle could be easily worked on anywhere.

Our BSA is a beautiful example, and the last owner had this A7 since 1996. In the past, this example underwent restoration and overhaul work, and it therefore looks beautiful and well-maintained.

The frame and fenders are neat, and the chrome work looks nice. The saddle is in good condition, and the instrumentation is very original and in good shape. The engine starts immediately, and the sound is instantly recognizable and, of course, very different from, for instance, a Triumph from that era. The clutch operates very smoothly, and shifting gears is surprisingly easy. You sit very comfortably on this BSA, and the suspension does its job silently and properly. The brakes work well, and steering is flawless.

All in all, this is a very beautiful model that has always been well-maintained, and it is a classic motorcycle that is very usable and ready to go. Are you interested in this beautiful BSA?
