Sometimes everything is right. As with this Testarossa from 1986. Connoisseurs immediately see that this is the most popular variant: the Monospecchio with a single, high-mounted mirror and wheels that are attached with a central wheel nut. This version was produced for a short time before the redesigned Testarossa got low-mounted mirrors on both sides and the wheels were mounted to the hubs with five traditional bolts. An icon of the highest class, of which we can now offer a rare, well-maintained copy.

It is one of the most striking model names in car history: Testarossa! Just say it out loud a few times, with the emphasis on ‘ros’, and you will spontaneously imagine yourself Italian(se). Literally translated it means ‘Red head’, which refers to the red cylinder heads of the mighty V12. The Testarossa of the 1980s was named after legendary predecessors such as the 250 Testa Rossa and 500 TR. A child of the eighties, this Ferrari has everything a car enthusiast dreamed of at the time: opening headlights, huge air intakes and black grilles over the taillights. The number of posters hung above beds and in offices must have been countless.

Behind the wheel, the average 40-year-old has an instant flashback to the late 1980s, when he or she played Out to Run, one of the first and most famous racing games ever to feature the Testarossa. Not from the games but from television? Then you undoubtedly know the Testarossa from Miami Vice. You see: the Testarossa is an icon of its time, a car that is almost as typical of the period as the cassette tape, test image and the view-master.

The owner of this almost two meters wide two-seater with a mid-engine must have been totally delighted with his Ferrari, judging by the urge to have the car more than perfectly maintained, judging by the enormous pile of invoices. It is reading material for many evenings.

If you walk around the two-seater with mid-engine, you will not find a spot that is not perfect. A beautiful car.

The Ferrari is executed in the most popular combination: red with a natural-coloured leather interior. The interior is not only in Concours condition but also exudes an unprecedented amount of character. The sleek, sober design of the dashboard, the orange-red counters that can be found not only in front of you but also in the centre console and of course the black ‘poker ball’ that disappears via a long steel poker rod in the typical Ferrari shift pattern. All eighties, but in terms of condition, not an inch to indicate that that was more than forty years ago.

The technical condition has already been discussed: the car as a whole has been exceptionally maintained. Maintenance was done at the dealer, of which all invoices are present as proof. The last major service, for almost € 9,000, was carried out only 1,200 kilometers ago. Perhaps not only the most beautiful but also the best you can find at the moment.
