The Ford Model A was available in a dizzying amount of versions. This one happens to be a 1931 Ford Model A convertible 68B, with very rare wind-down windows. The car has already been fully restored once using a lighter flywheel and a more substantial clutch. In both mechanical as well as visual aspect this car is in good condition. It has been very well looked after since the restoration and looks rather fab with its yellow finish and orange wheels. The straight panelwork is correctly aligned. The yellow and black paint finish is in a good state with only minor signs of use. The interior was reupholstered during the restoration and with the hood is in good shape. The hood fits nicely.
The 3.3 litre 4-cylinder engine is attached to a manual 3-speed gearbox. The engine runs well and the transmission works smooth as well as precise.

Wanneer we een analogie uit de muziekindustrie toepassen op de vroege modellen van Ford dan zou de Ford Model T het eerste hit album zijn. De plaat waarmee Ford eindelijk doorbrak bij het grote publiek. Maar om niet te verworden tot een eendagsvlieg moest Ford met een dijk van een opvolger komen, dat werd de Ford Model A die ervoor zorgde dat Ford hard op weg ging om te verworden tot één van de allerbelangrijkste ondernemingen uit de auto-industrie. Tussen 1928 en 1931 wist Ford er maar liefst 4,8 miljoen van te verkopen.
De Ford Model A was verkrijgbaar in een duizelingwekkend aantal uitvoeringen. Dit exemplaar is een Ford Model A cabriolet 68B uit 1931. De auto is al eens volledig gerestaureerd waarbij van de mogelijkheid gebruik is gemaakt om een lichter vliegwiel en een sterkere koppeling te monteren. De auto verkeert dan ook, zowel optisch als technisch in goede conditie. De auto is sinds de restauratie zeer goed onderhouden en ziet er nog altijd te gek uit in deze fraaie kleurstelling met een gele carrosserie en oranje wielen. Het plaatwerk is strak en de passingen zijn correct. De gele en zwarte lak verkeren in goede staat en hebben slechts wat hele lichte gebruikerssporen. Het interieur is tijdens de restauratie opnieuw bekleed en verkeert in goede staat evenals de cabrioletkap. De kap sluit overal mooi aan.
De 3.3 liter viercilinder motor is gekoppeld aan een handgeschakelde transmissie met drie versnellingen. De motor loopt goed en de transmissie laat zich precies bedienen.
Kortom een tegenwoordig zeer zeldzame Ford Model A 68B Cabriolet in prima conditie.
