San Jose, California, USA, that is the place were it all began for this lovely Mustang. Built on the assembly lines in San Jose and supplied to its first owner by the San Jose dealership. It is just the start of a comfortable life for this Silver Blue Mustang Convertible.

A ‘65 Mustang is a car that speaks to the imagination. In those years the Mustang was immensely popular and dealers could not replenish their stocks fast enough. The first owner of this Mustang must have leaped for joy when he heard his car was ready to be collected.
The good man had taste looking at the lovely bright colour combination of light blue paintwork with “Blue Vinyl and Blue Trim”. Sixty years later the car still looks the same. A pretty picture indeed. Brilliant paintwork on nice and thin panelwork. No rushed American restoration before being transported to Europe but a car that is as near to perfection as you wish. The brightwork, mouldings and light elements are all in wonderful condition as are the optional 14×4.5” wheels.
The complete blue interior trim is also in perfect shape. We need not waste any more words on describing it. A peak through the steering wheel reveals the long stretched speedometer flanked by two round gauges, one for fuel and one for temperature. What else does man need? The blue dashboard, door cards and upholstery are individually beautiful, all totally devoid of any damage or wear, the brightwork and switchtgear seamlessly fitting into that pattern. All in all a very pleasant place to be. Looking over your shoulder you see another big advantage of the Mustang; namely it large rear bench able to accommodate friends and family. Left under the dashboard is a switch you must not forget: the Mustang’s supple opening and closing electric hood is operated with that switch. When up you can properly see the hood is in excellent condition with its white colour enhancing the fresh overall look of the car.

A peak under the large bonnet reveals an impressive 289 cubic inch V8 with a two-barrel setup. There is an C4 automatic transmission at your disposal. All good for 200 hp and with this transmission quite the comfortable travelling companion. The eight-cylinder runs silky smooth and you never have to wonder if it is running as you are comforted by lovely rumble of the V8 whether stationary or more engaged.
As you can observe the seams of the bodywork and bottom are as neat as the rest of the more easily visible parts. The panelwork and chassis are in fine mettle. Mechanically matters such as suspension, exhaust,
axles and the 2.80:1 standard diff are in excellent condition.

A Ford Mustang that has been restored in a manner not often seen in this class. Mechanically and visually in a fantastic state with its Californian Blue Plate still in the boot.
