Only fifty examples were built. Not approximately, not roughly, but exactly fifty worldwide. A limited collector piece from day one.

The Midsummer was created through a collaboration between Motor Company and Pininfarina. Two names whose histories reach back to the early years of the twentieth century. For this project the classic Morgan silhouette was reinterpreted according to Pininfarina’s vision of a barchetta, with clear influences from the late nineteen thirties and early nineteen forties. You can see that immediately in the way the body is shaped.

This particular example was specified with several unique options, including the Maserati color Grigio Cangiante (nearly € 7.000 extra), the higher windscreen (also around € 7.000), a sports exhaust, and a wooden gear selector knob.

Beneath the long hood lies the heart of the car: a BMW derived turbocharged inline six delivering 340 horsepower to the rear wheels. Combined with a weight of only about one thousand kilograms, this results in a sprint from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in roughly four seconds. Those are figures you would normally expect from a modern sports car rather than a hand built barchetta. Yet the engineering is entirely contemporary.

The chassis and suspension are tuned for direct feedback without unnecessary harshness. Specially designed nineteen inch wheels, each weighing only ten kilograms, save more than three kilograms per wheel compared to the Plus Six.

A charming detail is the wooden frame. Where it normally remains hidden beneath the bodywork, here it is deliberately exposed. Not as a gimmick, but as an integral part of the design. The execution is technically complex and integrates seamlessly with the body.

Inside, the sense of calm stands out immediately. Analog gauges in an era where digital displays dominate. Tan soft grain leather covers the seats and panels. Everything you touch feels solid and thoughtfully made.

The horseshoe shaped grille, flanked by newly designed headlamps with silver accents, subtly references Morgan’s past. The crescent shaped wind deflector low in the nose and the vertical vents beside the grille are not only visually striking but also functional, guiding airflow and improving cooling.

The Morgan Midsummer is not a car you compare with anything else. There are fifty. Worldwide. This is one of only fifty possible opportunities. And once you take your seat behind the wheel, you immediately understand that this is not an ordinary roadster, but a carefully crafted limited edition for the collector who knows exactly what he is looking for.
